Society-driven Technological Innovation & Research (STIR-2019) organised at CSIO


Chandigarh: A poster presentation session on the focal theme ‘Society-driven Technological Innovation & Research (STIR-2019)’ was organised at CSIO by IEEE Student Branch AcSIR-CSIO to deliberate cutting-edge science and technology, networking, intensive technical discussions and poster presentations on critical issues related to the purpose of technological innovation and research on ‘Society’.

Prof. R.K. Sinha, Director CSIO was the Chief Guest and in his address to the participants he encouraged the young scientists and researchers to steer their research in such a way that it is beneficial to the society.

STIR-2019 provided a platform for interaction to eminent researchers, students, scientists and faculty from universities like UIET & UICET Panjab University, Thapar University, Chandigarh University, Punjab Engineering College, Punjabi University, Chandigarh College of Engineering and Technology and Sri Guru Gobind Singh College, Chandigarh and national laboratories like CSIR-CSIO.

Around 100 participants shared their research findings and discussed their ideas concerning the focal theme of the poster session.

The posters were categorised into three poster sessions namely Technology for Society, Innovation for Society and Research for Society. In the three categories, the winners were felicitated with best poster awards.

The IEEE-SB, AcSIR-CSIO, branch counsellor Dr. H.K.Sardana, branch mentor, Satish Kumar and executive committee members Javed, Anupma, Neha, Vishavpreet and Priyanshu announced that they will be organising more such stimulating events with more innovative ideas and scientific temperament.
