Haryana Chief Minister, Manohar Lal alongwith newly elected Mayors of five Municipal Corporations called on Prime Minister, Narendra Modi in New Delhi today.
Alongwith the Chief Minister, who met Narendra Modi included newly elected mayors of five Municipal Corporations namely Manmohan Goyal of Rohtak, Renu Bala Gupta of Karnal, Gautam Sardana of Hisar, Madan Singh Chauhan of Yamunanagar and Avnit Kaur of Panipat.
During the meeting at Prime Ministers’ Office in Sansad Bhawan, besides the Chief Minister, MP Rajya Sabha and BJP General Secretary and Incharge of Party Affairs in Haryana Dr Anil Jain and BJP State President Subhash Barala were also present.
Later, while interacting with the media persons, BJP State President Subhash Barala said that the State Government under the leadership of Chief Minister Manohar Lal has taken a policy decision to hold direct elections of Mayors in Municipal Corporations.
The decision would go a long way in stabilizing the system of Municipal Corporations, he added.
