A young trainee pilot was killed after a small plane crashed in the Sarai Meer area of Azamgarh district of Uttar Pradesh on Monday. Azamgarh District Magistrate Rajesh Kumar said that the plane took off from a training institute at 10:30 in the morning. The aircraft was operated by a trainee pilot. There was only one person on this plane.
Sources said the aircraft belonged to the Indira Gandhi National Flight Academy Amethi, a training institute run by the Central Government. The trainee pilot identified as Konark Saran, a resident of Palwal in Haryana. Saran had 125 hours of flying experience as a trainee. He was a skilled trainee pilot with a very good track record. It seems that the accident happened due to bad weather. The spokesman said that the four-seater aircraft was equipped with ultra-modern equipment. This accident is very unfortunate and all necessary steps are being taken.
