Chandigarh: The Punjab cabinet has approved to fill the 8,393 posts of Pre-primary teachers in education department. Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh said will make government pre-primary schools more competitive.
The total requirement of pre-primary teachers is 12,000 but the Finance Department was delaying to approve it keeping in view the financial situation of the state.
The Chief Minister chaired the virtual cabinet meeting on Wednesday, saying that all efforts will be made to complete the remaining recruitment in pre-primary government schools.
According to a spokesperson of the CM's Office, posts of pre-primary school teachers will be filled as per the calculated enrollment of students, with a standard of one teacher for 30 students.
